Sharing a teaser of the biopic, Mncube conveyed the immense weight he felt in portraying an icon like Mandoza, saying, “The weight of portraying an icon was heavy on my shoulders.” He also shared, “I felt a deep responsibility to honor his memory and pay homage to his legacy, and I am honored to have been chosen for the role.”

Mandoza, whose real name was Mduduzi Tshabalala, passed away in September 2016 at the age of 38 after battling cancer.

Lorraine Moropa, in her social media post, beautifully encapsulated Mandoza’s enduring impact, stating, “Legends Never Die, They Multiply! Mandoza left a legacy that continued to have ripples of impact across generations. This story was worth telling.”
