In a groundbreaking move for African music, Capital Radio South Africa has officially partnered with the globally recognized Urban Music Awards (UMA) to expand into Africa with the launch of the Urban Music Awards South Africa (UMA SA). This exciting collaboration will celebrate and elevate the incredible talent of South African music artists across various genres.
For two decades, the Urban Music Awards has been at the forefront of recognizing the best in urban music worldwide, with prestigious events held in the UK, USA, Caribbean, and Europe. Now, through this strategic partnership, UMA SA will create a platform exclusively dedicated to celebrating South African artists, producers, and creatives, giving them well-deserved recognition on both a local and international stage.
Capital Radio South Africa, known for its innovative approach to digital broadcasting, will play a key role in the event, providing exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes coverage, and live event streaming. As a radio station that is 90% podcast-driven and 10% dedicated to music from its in-house record label, Capital Radio South Africa aims to use this partnership to amplify homegrown talent and industry voices.
