The independent film “Die Hustle” has recently hit the screens, leaving a profound impact across the nation. The movie revolves around two young boys hailing from the Eldorado Park area in Johannesburg, as they endeavor to transform not only their own lives but also the destinies of their families.
In this poignant narrative, South-African Comedian & influencer: Nadeem Poem, commonly known as Dimpie, one of the central characters, grapples with a childhood love that urges him towards a deeper connection with faith. Conversely, Slim, another key character, bears the heavy burden of his mother’s gradual battle with cancer. A glimmer of hope arrives in the form of an old friend, Raja, from Durban, offering a potential solution to their financial woes. While this opportunity holds the promise of aiding Slim’s mother’s health, it simultaneously threatens to rupture Dimpie’s cherished bond with his childhood sweetheart. Now faced with an excruciating decision, Dimpie stands at a crossroads between supporting his closest friend and preserving his romantic relationship.
The Johannesburg premiere of “Die Hustle” illuminated the Crystal Auditorium on a vibrant Saturday, July 1st, drawing in an impressive audience of approximately 800 attendees.
