Hennessy honors DJ Ready D: South Africa’s Hip-Hop Pioneer

DJ Ready D, real name Deon Daniels, was bestowed a plaque to recognise his contribution to South African Hip Hip on Friday. The legendary DJ and activist was honoured by Hennessy as he stood along-side Stefanos Kondylis, the Marketing Director of Hennessy, at the official South African celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary in Newtown, Johannesburg.

 

 

He shared to His social media: “I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you Hennessy for this awesome gift. I accept in honour of every soul that contributed to this phenomenal #HipHop #Culture especially here in South Africa.”

Born on December 5, 1971, in the Cape Flats, DJ Ready D’s journey is a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries and inspire change.
